Camp Bestival

Post by BillieWilma » Fri Apr 24, 2009 8:14 pm

Hi there - is anyone going to Camp Bestival in Dorset in July (24, 25, 26) It looks like its going to be great and it will be one of our first adventures with our new Bongo. We pick it up next week.

If you have kids it looks like its going to be ace - Mr Tumble is going to be there...!!

Check it out at www.campbestival.net and if you fancy meeting up it would be great to meet some other bongoers.....I don't know any yet!!!

I think they are doing a feature on it in this weekends Sunday Times

Can't afford it - £130 a ticket & £60 for a campervan ticket - nearly £200  Have a good time though, should be a blast 8)
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

We did think about it as Massive Attack are headlining, but we going to see them in Brixton now.

There are some cheaper festivals. We are going to the Larmer Tree festival for one day/night to see Dreadzone.. anyone been there?

We are almost definitely going
Some advice is needed on their definition of a camper as we have an unconverted Bongo
Have tried to e mail them without success so if anyone knows that would be great
It is expensive but as we have 3 kids and thye are free its not too bad for 3 days of entertainment
Hopefully Mr Tumble will babysit
So we will look out for you

Have fun at Bestival! We are doing Glasto and Latitude as our Bongo was our 'honeymoon' purchase instead of a honeymoon, so we are going to make the most of it when she (Buffy the Bongo) arrives (June 20 I am hoping!). I think really considering how many bands you see they are great value eg at Glasto, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young are playing. You'd pay at least £60 a ticket in London to see either of them per person.

We are going to the free http://www.godivafestival.co.uk/ Godiva festival. We are staying at Holyfast http://www.hollyfastcaravanpark.co.uk/.

You get the family festivl experience and it only costs £15 for the weekend.

Good option for those on a budget.

Having said that we would like to go to Reading but could not get tickets. If anybody has two weekend camping tickets they want to sell for face value I would be happy to take them off your hands.

Take care

We're going, can't wait.

We don't pick our bongo up till Monday so it'll be our first ever trip out in it. Hopefully it'll pass with flying colours as we have 4 more festivals to do in it!

Enjoy

2 more sleeps to go everyone!! I'm soooooo excited.......

Hopefully see you all there - we're in a dark green freda. I will be mainly dressed as a bee, I have a 3 year old (who will be an elephant), a 1 yr old (a donkey) and my fiancee will be dressed as a dog (although he doesn't know it yet!)

Come and say hello

See you all there - a friend of mine saw Florence and the Machine last night and she was fantastic, and of course Mr Tumble is a god!

Woooo hoooooooooooooooo
