I thought that too, but not all bongos fuel pump has the primer fitted to it.

But I think you have to bleed the fuel system when the engine is turned off???

If that doesnt work it might be a case of crap in the fuel lines?, not common but has been a problem in the past for some bongos, try empty the diesal tank and then take off the fuel lines and give them a clean

the engine must be off.Trace the fuel line there may be a manual lift pump elsewhere. There must be something somewhere or else bleeding it after filter replacement would be a arse. You can bleed it by slackening one fuel line to an ejector(ejector end whilst engine running) and i mean only slacken until any air comes out and stops coming out and then tighten.

Surely the Bongo fuel system is self-bleeding :? :?

have replaced the fuel filter and filled new filter with injector cleaner as advised and not only is it running better its started on the button on each time after, some nasty looking crud came out of the old filter(i mean dark lumps) so presumably the filter was never changed by the previous owner. =D> thanks to all reply posters
