Tyres and removal

Post by Nick65 » Fri Jul 17, 2009 3:49 pm

OK, I was looking around my Bongo to check everything was right for France in 4 weeks time. But I cannot find anything to remove the nuts off the wheels.

Am I missing something? I have a bar and bit to raise the car up to remove the tyres, but is it a dual bit that also undoes the nuts or am I being stupid??

Is this in the chamber at the back of the step inside the sliding door?

If so you should have a Jack, the metal rod to lower the spare, the ratchet handle to turn it with and a vinyl bag to hold various other bits including the wheel nut spanner.

The metal rod should be in clips at the top of the chamber.

Unless you've got muscles like King Kong, you'd be better off getting one of those extending bars from accessory shops (see http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TELESCOPE-VAN-CAR ... 1|294%3A50 ) - I've even seen them in £1 shops 8)

I've just posted pics of all the bits on another post here http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =3&t=33191 but I wouldn't fancy trying to tackle the wheel nuts with what Mazda provided. Something a bit heavier duty may be called for but then again I'd probably call the RAC out
