So Glad it's sorted graham. I'm sure it will be OK now. I went through a thing of "can I trust the Bongo". I admit there was nothing serious, but niggly little repairs went on and on. However the last 12 months or so, she has been perfect. Don't worry, Enjoy Nice to have you back

Update on Bongy.

He is off to see the specialist Friday so more updates next week.

It's a sickening feeling seeing a bongo on a recovery wagon, ours was on one twice in the same week.

What happened to yours Brian, was it coolant loss.

I hope it's fixed soon and the wallet attack isn't too bad.

The garage we used was Ian Taylor UK Ltd in Market Drayton. Very recommended in the west mids.

No not this, this was the third leak in three years.

Leak 1 and overheated in 2006 no LCA and the bleed hose leaked. So bled system and fitted an LCA
Leak 2 was earlier this year from a core plug. The LCA went off and saved the day - no overheat
Leak 3 was last month, got a slight change in note from the LCA the day before but fluid was ok. The hose leaked, bongo overheated and the Masoned temp guage showed it was overheating. I think the system pressurised so the LCA didn't pick it up.

I'm thinking of fitting a TM2 now

Moral of the story I think is that following an overheat then bite the bullet and replace the rad, hoses, stat and anything suspect. These are old cars now.

I have a TM2 tells you that the Bongo is overheating too! Brian's alarm didn't go off either.

I think what happens is that LCA picks up a gradual leak but a catastrophic leak results in more pressurisation and then an overheat.

I think Haydn is testing a high alarm as well as a low one?

Ian who fixed the Bongo is not a fan of the Mason Alarm, it was disconnected for the bleed process and I have not recconected yet.

All very clever stuff! I just like to know our Bongo is well protected I am not very Technie minded, as you have probably guessed, but I am learning
