Head is off,now I need to remove studs and pipe to send away

Post by draper3000 » Sun Jul 12, 2009 12:13 pm

Good afternoon.
I've just received my brnad new Bongo Cylinder Head, its a part exchange deal and I need to send back the old one.

Almost everything taken off thats needed apart from two bits. Advice needed on how to remove:

- Some studs (where the manifolds were bolted on, some did not come off with nuts?...)

- Pipe coming off side of head head (think its a water pipe, which slits into 3, cant see how to remove it?)...got a new one one with the new head but that one only splits into 2 pipes.?

Any help very very appreciated.

Cheers

Jon

(Been trying to get the van fixed for the last 2 months..still though getting a smaller beer belly due to cycling to work every day).

Also now know alot more about engines....Bongo diesel engines specifically.

If the new head only has two pipes, instead of 3, it's not a Bongo head but a Ford Ranger one. The 3rd pipe is for the bleed pipe.
Sorry, no idea about getting the studs out, apart from putting 2 nuts on (one acting as a locknut) to unscrew them.

Hi...thanks for the reply.

The compan assure me the head is correct for my Bongo.

The 2 ended pipe was not already attached to the head, but separate in a bag..

Will check it over thoroughly tomorrow...making sure the head is correct.

Any ideas on how the pipe comes off?
