Getting home last night i had the usual drip but then it became a dribble. On closer inspection the metal pipe that feeds the rear heater was P-----G out at the support bracket where it tees off up to the block a slight movement made it worse and drained the system.
Faced with the prospect of feeding a new metal pipe with brackets from front to back {i hate threading needles in the dark } and waiting till tuesday for one and 40 quid i thought a way round it must be possible.
Armed with a hacksaw i cut the pipe in 3 and removed it along with the rubber pipe which joins it to the heater box at the front and replaced it wit a 2.5 metre length of high temp 17mm id rubber heater hose into a 17mm tee to join up at the back.
Next bit i dreaded but with the help of all the masters on the forum bled and filled the system. jobs a good em an no leaks.
THE MORAL IS DONT TRUST THE DRIP IT MIGHT BE SUMMATS MORE SERIOUS HAVE A LOOK BEFOR ITS TO LATE
