Hi All. Problem with pulling away from standing start

Post by mike671 » Thu Jul 09, 2009 8:58 am

Hi there im from the Isle of Wight and have a Ford Freeda 2.5diesel Auto, I had a fault code of 62 with the gearbox solenoids. I have since replaced them, and strainer with new oil and now once warm, it struggles to pull away? it seems fine when cold tho, its fine through the gears just not pulling away. Any help much appreciated! The levels in the gearbox also seem fine.

And well done for doing a site dedicated to bongos and freedas! I love my Freeda camper its great :D just not up hills at the moment lol

Patience, my dear [-X Can't help but the forum does get busier in the evenings when peeps are home from work. Mind you, it's lunchtime now so someone may be along to help you.

A teensy word of advice to make your posts more appealing to someone, if in future when you post, you put an indication of the problem in the title "Hi All" looks a lot less urgent than "Fault Code 62 Solenoid Problem"

Just a thought - not everyone is as unfriendly as me      Welcome to the forum - you'll get lots of help and advice (and lunacy ) on here.

Mike671 there's a factsheet on gearbox fault codes in the members area.

thanks westonwarrior, i cant seem to find or view the members area though. For anyone that fancies doing the solenoids its not a hard job just very oily, and try and remember where the bolts go. Its just annoying once warm it wont pull away properly now :?

It's on the main www.bongofury.co.uk site but is only accessible if you are a paid up member of the Bongo Fury (you can be a forum user without being a member of the club, but there are certain useful things, including factsheets, as well as discounted parts and bits & pieces, and certain meets, which are only available to club members).

if the problem is still there in L hold, which selects first gear and assuming the engine's performing ok, then it could be a torque convertor stator fault - only cure is to replace it
