Removal of engine cover with Taxi seat fitted

Post by ROXY » Sun Jul 05, 2009 10:00 pm

I have a twin Taxi seat fitted in my Bongo (behind passenger seat facing to the rear) This was installed by JAL.
The seat would appear to be bolted to the engine cover behind the passenger seat.
Is there any way to remove the engine cover without having to unscrew the complete seat?

I got something similar but a single one in my Elite conversion, straight swap for the footstool fixed using the footstool mounting bolts. Don't use it any more and have replaced it with a footstool. It was a pain having to unbolt it everytime I wanted to check the oil.

Checked mine out - The taxi seat is secured to the foot stall mounting with the two foot stall mounting bolts. These have to be removed and the taxi seat folded down in order to access the engine. Quite a pain !!!!!!
