HORN NOT WORKING

Post by andrewr7 » Fri Jul 03, 2009 3:42 pm

can anyone help ?my bongo failed mot due to 3 things ,brake lights not working i fixed this .horn not working and side repeater on offside not flashing.i have seen some info on horns not working but dont understand it too clearly,i have checked horn is working by putting two wires from the battery to it :)i have looked in the relay box and tried to connect a live wire to the relay as suggested by somebody with same problem but that only succeeded in turning fan only, which relay is the horn connected to anybody know?
help please and can i cut off the side repeaters on the wing and cover up the holes with a sticker?

Welcome to the madhouse :D
Have you checked the horn fuse (details on fact sheet in Member's area)?
If you've got side repeaters, I assume you've got a new shape Bongo. I'm not sure about these but, older shapes have a prominent bulge on the side of the front indicator lens. If you have these, you do not need the side repeaters. It's not a good idea to just tape them up though.
To be honest, all 3 things should be checked regularly - why take it for MOT with them not working :?
