Tyre sizes for my new Alloys

Hi all
Please excuse my ignorance on this subject (as with many subjects)
I have just bought a set of 17" alloys for my beloved (Bongo of course). Can anyone advise me on the best or correct tyre size to fit? I understand that the loading should be around 96, but really need some expert knowledge on the correct sizing

Many of us are running 215/55/17 and if you go for 'accellera' they are reasonably priced and 98 loading. They are a little taller, but not by much and are unlikely to affect your speedo etc.

A lot of us also use 225/55x17

Hi, I have been looking into this all week and a lot of head scratching (I'm new to this Bongo lark) this is what I have been lead to believe:

Alloys:

PCD: 5x114.3 / ET: 40-45 / BORE 67.1 (The same as a Mazda RX8 I think?)

Tyres:

225/50 R17 98W XL (size to keep same diameter as originals and 98W XL to be 'insurance' safe)

But as I said I am new to this and might have got the wrong end of the stick
