What's this metal plate on top of the AFT?

Post by EddyH » Sun Jun 28, 2009 5:32 pm

We've recently bought our first Bongo and among our many questions is what is this metal plate on top of the AFT?

I suppose the next question then is any suggestions on how best to remove it? I think it's glued/bonded on.

Why bother? You might find a use for it later 8)

May have had a TV aerial or sattelite dish up there.

Because I'm going to have the roof vinyl wrapped.

Aha :D - probably use a heat gun to soften the glue.

Try a hairdrier or similar on the plate it might just soften the glue enough to remove without taking the paint off.

Hi
Tell me to mind my own business, but vinyl wrapped??? Being tall, the Bongo gets walloped by low branches, especially when camping!...they'll scar your wrapping...paint can be touched up. That metal plate may be handy if it's steel....or bond steel to it...mag-mount for TV aerial
Cheers

Bend a corner up slightly and fashion it into a discreet bottle opener?
