Bongo imported audio and navigation etc

Hi folks
I have just bought my first Bongo, and it has a Japanese radio cassette and a "Clarion Hybrid Navigation System" which seem to have been imported with it. The radio doesnt go above 90MHz so lots of UK stations are unobtainable - I guess I'm just going to have to buy a new one, and the Clarion has a very nice fold-up LCD screen and CD drive, but apart from putting up a welcome logo on its screen it doesnt do anything - does it need some kind of Boot CD, or has its function been superseded by Satnavs? Obviously I'd like to use it to play CDs or DVDs on site.
Any one got any advice or experience with either bits of this kit?

You can buy a radio band expander to get the english stations, the sat nav isnt worth a bean, it wont work over here, nearly every one binns them, a few try sell em on ebay but they never sell, well the ones ive seen on ebay anyhow

The trouble with a bongo with loads of sat nav / dvd / cd flash radio etc, is that it looks good when you get it, but leaves a bigger hole in the dash when you realise the best place for it is the bin .
None of it will ever work properly, and even a nice CD/radio is not worth spending £10 on a band expander for it.
Just my opinion, but I would rather put in a £50 uk cd player any day.

Only thing about an old radio cassett it does keep the local scroats off. Round here they go up and down the street usually just before Xmas smashing car windows and then failing to remove the radios. The damage done is many times the value of the radio and the vandalism seems the main point. Even when they get caught there is no punishment.

I keep my old cassett radio for this reason. With a band expander it gets most things and the CD changer is hidden under the seats. Quite a lot of cassett radios will take an Mp3 player anyway. The one in my jeep does so you have decent sound but nothing worth nicking.

Iv'e got my sons old radio and cd player all in one with removable faceplate beutiful sound ( gave him a pair of
socks) I'm like that generous to a fault
