Passenger window fault.

Post by Drummonkey » Mon Jun 15, 2009 8:39 pm

Having just bought my first Bongo and having played with all of the buttons...the passenger window has ceased to work. The on/off button on the driver side window control is in the on position but the window doesn't work from either the driver or the passenger switch. The window did work until I turned the switch from on to off and back to on again.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S Can anyone recommend an immobiliser/alarm specialist in Bristol?

reason mine did that was a busted wire in loom from door on drivers side

wiggling the wiring would close it to allow window to work

Some times a good clean is all it need's to get the switch working again.

Mine did exactly the same today. Never heard of a Bongo having pre bash nerves before. It also did it just after I bought it. Both times fixed by flicking switches. There seems to be a sequence of things to flick, not just pressing unlock.

I was about to take the switch panel off today when all was restored and things are now working fine. Try openiing and shutting the door as well. A good door slam helps.

If there is a problem rather than sheer Bongo akwardness it will be with this overide switch. Someone will be bound to have fixed it and can advise further.

my passenger side lock switch needed a damn god clean when I got mine , may require a bit of dissasembly, but maybe try a bit of contact cleaner in there. it could well be the loom between the door & body too, common problem.
