trapped tent

Post by Mr Muldoon » Thu Jun 11, 2009 4:41 pm

When I close the aft the tent has to be manually tucked in otherwise the roof closes down on it. Is this normal?

Also is there a wax or other product out there that I can use on the roof to prevent it from cracking

Cheers

The tent stops part way down to allow you to chek it's all tucked in and there are no vagrants or kids left up there before you squish them :D

not sure what you could do to lube your tent.

 Have sussed out it stops half way but every time I have done this I do need to raise the hatch ( with the room i have left to raise it given the fact that the aft is now half way down) & pull the tent in other wise it would get messy.

you could tuck it in from the outside, or leave the hatch open and enjoy the rays from the sun roof... and keep the tent ventilated

With hatch closed the air pressure is likely to make the tent puff out. So I always fold the hatch right back flat before I start closing the roof, and it lives folded flat back when the roof is down.

If you feel you must have the hatch closed when roof is down (for tidy looks or whatever) and/or you don't want the tent getting caught in the roller mechanism then you could opt to unzip the tent and keep in rolled up in its velco straps (I believe peeps have done this and it works)

Sorry if I've misunderstood anything here :?

PS - There is a sliding cover you can pull over the sunroof to block out light when the hatch is folded back, if that is your desire 8)

I always leave the top zip undone - tent folds away nicely then :D

Do you have any problems with wrinkles? or creases in your weathering flap?

I always leave the trap door open for the above reasons(Air the tent when the top aint up, make for easy air flow when raising and lowering) I also unzip the top vent when stowing away so that when i raise the roof again i don't have to get up there and give it a bit of a shove to lock it in place.

Oh right :D I can honestly say that I haven't got a clue whether or not it's creased, or even if there is one on the top zip  - I must have a look at the Bash

We leave the hatch open. Makes it a bit brighter in the back for the girls with the sunroof cover open.

When we put the roof down, Amie is usually inside gently pulling the canvas in and folded. Upto now we have no grease or marks on the tent. The previous owner told us it was best to do that.
