help needed regarding belts

could someone please tell me what the 2 belts on the front of the alternator are called.
i was driving home and the bongo started making a very loud noise, i looked under the passenger seat and one of the belt looks like its frayed and snapped

They will be the aternator belts

I am sure if hey have a special name, an expert will be along shortly to provide it to you.

...and I'd try to get replacements from a kosher source like Bongobits or the Bongo shop as there have been one or two tales suggesting that some bets supplied have had the wrong v-profile for the Bongo pulleys, resulting in extra side load on and destruction of the crankshaft pulley. How sound this theory is, I don't claim to know but I can see it as a theoretical possibility. Tell 'em you need 2 new fanbelts (and you might as well fit a new aircon compressor belt at the same time I reckon so its all ticketyboo - doesn't cost much extra).

Thanks mikeonb4c .Have duly ordered from the Bongo shop.
Read on another thread that the two alt/fan belts run the power steering and the air con!
Since you advice to change the air con belt as well this is obviously not true.
Are there four belts in total then? I.e two alt/fan belts an air con belt and a cam belt?as another source was selling a belt set for the Bongo which was onlt three belts.
Totally confused now.
At least i knew what was what on my old Mondeo

there are 3 external belts you can see

2 on alternator

1 on air con as i recall

the cam belt is behind a cover so you cannot see it

Belts should arrive tomorrow so hopefully i'll get time to fit them.
