Hi All,
Bongo failed to start for the first time this week. Its a diesel turbo 4wd aft 1995.
I have so far:
Checked feed to glow plug rail using multimeter, zero. ( I'm guessing it should be 12 volts?)
Checked continuity from relay to glow plug rail, seems ok.
Checked feed through relay when switched on, nil.
Took cover off relay and observed action when connected and ignition turned on, nothing.
Checked continuity of relay manualy operating switch, ok.
Refitted relay and manually operated, engine started, a bit lumpy but ran ok.
So I guess its the relay but £70.00, is there a cheaper alternative that any body knows of. Perhaps the Ford Ranger or similar.
All replies gratefully received.
Thanks

Re: Glow plug relay
have you tried the fuse 10 amp number 18 by drivers knee
or the fusable link from battery

Re: Glow plug relay
Thanks for the suggestion, I have just checked all the 10 amp fuses and they are all ok.
I have found a second hand relay on *bay for £15 so I'll try that and see what happens.

Re: Glow plug relay
Update to my little problem. Received the second hand relay, fitted it and everything ok now so looks like my guess was right.........which was nice!
Also decided to fit a low coolant alarm for piece of mind, really good bit of kit, well made and easy to fit, ta Haydn.
