Our Bongo is due for its first MOT since we bought it, I wondered, can we just take it to any garage for this, or does it have to go to a "Specialist"?
Thanks

Re: MOT Test
Any garage should do. But if it's 4WD make sure they are aware of this, you don't want them to fire it through the back of the workshop on a single-roller rolling road

Re: MOT Test
It is worth telling them how tall the van is (AFT?). Some garages are not able to lift high enough on the ramps

Another thing to remember too, is does it record in mph or kph as you will have to inform the tester to adjust for mot printout, 58000 kms is a lot lower than 58000 mls and its easy to forget but try and tell a buyer it was an mot mistake.

Re: MOT Test
all of the above..... KMS on the MOT mileage and.....4wd must be tested on a Tapley brake meter......driven up the yard and brakes applied - NOT on the rollers ......

passed - no worries, no advisories) I noticed on the testers printout that there were no notes on what to look for (some cars have little quirks that testers have to check and brake weights are listed too) .....my tester owns a Toyota import .....he knows his stuff....
