Banjo Filter V6 petrol

Hi, might sound daft but have the V6 engines got a banjo filter Sorry but i'm not mechanically minded and trying to find my way around the engine etc.Thanks

Hi there,

The V6 petrol has a flat panel air filter under the drivers seat by the chassis. It's in a black plastic box which is undone by 4 spring clips. Easy to change.

Oil filter is on the lower side of the engine under the passenger seat, you can access this from below without removing the undertray, but put an ice cream container below first as a small amount of oil will spill out as you remove it.

Back to the question which was about the banjo filter in the diesel injector pump.

AS V6 petrols won't have a diesel injector pump they won't (can't) have the same banjo filter as a diesel.

But they could have a similar device serving a similar purpose in the inlet to the petrol injector system.

If the high pressure pump is in the tank (as they often are) the equivalent filter could be there or possibly at the point where the fuel line enters whatever a petrol has under the bonnet to do the injecting.

Yes there is a fuel filter, they do often get overlooked as they are failry expensive compared with the other service items. Only need changing every 100k KM according to the manual.

Diesels have a disposable fuel filter as well, but the banjo filter is a metal gauze "back up" one located in the fuel inlet to the injector pump.
