Well on Monday I managed to fit the TM2/BMW clock combo pretty well as Haydn's enclosed instructions, one difference though is the  pictures show where the sensor is attached is a 2.5 Turbo diesel cylinder head with 2 spare screw holes, mine is obviously different (2.0l petrol) with 3 holes, so I put it as near to the same position, hopefully I will get some pics to show. Everything is working fine (blinking every second or so) yesterday I went to St Albans and back (another thread I think) and maximum temp showed 90 degrees, the normal temp gauge never moved from 11 o'clock.

What temp is to hot ???   good question.....any temp above what is normal is to hot !!!!  so..what is normal ?   assuming your Bongo is running ok before you start....attach the sensor to the cylinder head...(it does not really matter where this is but best away fron any direct airflow or the exaust) we (on the diesel suggest the very back of the head where you will find a couple of threaded holes)  once fitted set the TM-2 to 100 degrees (it comes set to this) and drive around for a couple of weeks under ALL conditions including a couple of long hill climbs giving it a bit of "stick"..
Now during this 2 weeks watch the readout and note the highest recorded temp (you may have had to reset the alarm a bit higher...and now set the alarm about 5 degrees higher than the highest recorded temp. Simple......if you ever do a bit of towing expect to have to reset it as towing puts load on a temps go a bit higher.
So there is no "normal" temp for Bongos as a whole...each is differant and is driven differantly.....normal depends on your individual bongo and how you drive it and where you put the sensor.
Having said that ...with the deisels we are trying to get the sensor in the same place for everyone and get some feedback.

Just to avoid confusion amongst other readers, there is a normal RANGE for a Bongo - we just don't know what it is yet (but may do once anough TM2s are fitted in standard positions).
