Headlight bulb block connecter

Post by mister munkey » Mon May 25, 2009 4:17 pm

Low beam gone on o/side headlight. Tried changing bulbs yesterday but found the plastic block connecter at the back of the bulb has cooked, become brittle & fell apart in my hands. :(

Drove the 60 miles or so to Wheelquick this morning - safe in the knowledge that they could get it sorted, only to find them shut. Wrongly assumed that a 7 day a week business would be open on a Bank Holiday.

Question being - is this a compatible "off the shelf" bit or do I need to faff about trying to find a breakers that have one?

Bonus question - Why was that overheating in the first place?

Hi
It's a standard bulb, so i would think standard connector....as for the other burny type problem....bad earth, worn connector in block, water....dirt....A replacement block should do the trick
Cheers

In the beginning there was nothing , then God said "Let there be Light".....There was still nothing , but ,by crikey, you could see it better.

Hi,

If it's just the connector that plugs into the rear of the headlight bulb any autofactors should have one, saw one in Halfords the other day. Make sure you get the right type mind.
