Slow starter when hot.

Post by gregory » Mon May 25, 2009 11:02 am

Hiya, got a problem.. Fine starting when cold. Very slowsluggish starter when hot. Alternator giving over 14volts. Good battery 12.7volt in morning B4 starting...
When the starter bushes or solonoid bushes on way out; thought the starter would turn or not turn -not become sluggish -As in battery seems flat...
When they are worn can starter get sluggish when engine hot???
Please help.
Greg.

Starter will go slower if not getting full power (and cold wire transmits current better than hot) - sounds like the brushes/contacts are on the way out.
