REAR SEAT BELT EXTENSION, anyone found one that fits?

Post by terminallybewildered » Fri May 22, 2009 3:05 pm

I have a campervan conversion with a rock and roll bed. Both rear seat belts are retained, with centre buckles in the fold of the bed when it's upright. As the bed is displaced to the nearside, the offside rear belt is hardly long enough. I have tried to find a seat belt extender that fits the bongo buckles but so far with no luck. The ones which are readily available (ebay etc.) have a tongue which is too narrow (22mm.) wheres the Bongo tongues are 27mm. Does anyone know how to extend the offside rear belt, or, as a last resort, where a new longer belt can be obtained? Any comments would be most appreciated. Thanks.

'Securon' do one - basically a strap with adjustable buckle - bolt one end to the end of the seat belt tag, the other end where the original tag was fitted. You then still use the bongo female tag still.
If your stuck, PM me and I should be able to sort one out.

Thanks for that information, madmile. Is it an extender without any buckle or tongue, so that the existing belt-end bolts to the strap and the strap bolts to the original bongo mounting hole? Sounds ideal. I've had a look at Securon's site but there's such a lot of options, it's difficult to know where to look. Do you have a part no./reference no.? I think I'd better PM you!

Many thanks. Ian

Tried to PM you but message won't send.

Message was: Do you have one available, and cost etc. ?

I'm sure you can PM me a reply even though I can't send to you ! (don't know why).

Ohh yes you have "sent" it, but it doesn't actually "go" (move from sent items to your out box) until they actually read it.
