Hi
I've noticed, for a couple of days, that the Bongo's tickover has dropped when the engine is warm, and makes it a bit lumpy on tickover, as it has dropped to around 600 to 660 RPM....I seem to remember it did this last year when the weather warmed up to around 30 Celsius, and it is about that at the moment...when the summer comes, it gets a lot hotter, but the tickover seems to stabilise.
Could the above be due to the fuel getting a bit warm, and vapourising in the lines, or is there a temperature sensor in the system which doesn't like it hot?
The engine runs perfectly sweetly whilst driving
Any Thoughts?
Cheers
Helen

Re: Fuel temperature control
I've never heard of diesel vapourising in hot weather, only petrol in the old carburettor days. Be interesting to see what others can come up with, cos' I ain't got a clue

Hi Helen,
Have you a lever on the air intake under the bonnet..??
If so it could be on the Winter setting

Re: Fuel temperature control
HiJohn
I kind of doubt that myself, as diesel is not as volatile, but I also wondered whether it should be cooler in the fuel system...perhaps the belly fan sensor has become inefficient...I haven't checked it for ages
Hi Lionel
No, I don't think mine has that facility
Thanks
