New Cylinder Head

Ok its moan time.

After 10 yes 10 weeks our mechanic has given up on the cyclinder head, he has fitted a new one and still gases spuewing out the headder tank.

We have now asked Bellhill Garage to take over. Any one ever used them?? seamed knowledgable on the phone and they can pick up on Wednesday a bit like lightspeed considering our last garage.

I've used Bell Hill when my top hose went last October..
I sourced a rear roll bar bracket off em for the MOT too! (the only thing my van failed on.)

I thought i'd let the experts look it over with regards to the top hose. (The hose went Wednesday night, i was due to go away Friday.) They are thorough, & i thought the recovery charge was reasonable too... (With reference to recovery; having said that, i just remembered i'm a member of the RAC.. )

Bell Hill won't let you have the keys until their satisfied it's working how it should...
If you have a mason alarm fitted let em know!

Ok tempting fate here but we could be one the road for the weekend!!

Block too wobbley so replacement engine needed
Spoke to Tom at Bell hill today Donor engine is nearly out and they have had it running with no problems and they are starting on ours tomorrow.

Also needs middle section of the exhaust and 5 bits of welding, turns out it wasn't waxoiled from new. plus 4 tyres we knew about.

My sympathies go out to you as I am going through the same thing as yourself.

I've replaced the cylinder head with all the trimmings and £1400 lighter and still have bubbles cascading out the expansion tank,

The garage are embarrased , they dont know what to do next, they have spent many hours on the Bongo (3 &1/2 weeks) in garage with labour costs only £400.

but I suspect the head will have to come back off.

Jaylee was right on the money, Tom and his team had it all done and wanted to put some miles on it before we had it back. and sure enough found a fine mist coming from a pipe which could have spelled disaster if we were on a long trip.

Funny thing is i have a field just up the road from them at Tuckers Grave & never noticed they did Bongo's till i got one myself!

Tom & Keith at Bell Hill are top blokes - can't recommend them enough. Our Bongo is going there on Saturday for an MOT - fingers crossed for an inexpensive visit.

Back from Bell Hill, no probs. Was really supprised how good it was to drive. Saw another Bongo but they didn't wave back
Spent this afternoon cleaning the inside it was lashing down and thought neigbours would think im odd washing a car in the rain

Usually handbrake or switch related . . .

Make sure the handbrake is on, it could be the switch at the back of the handbrake isn't making proper contact - quick scrape or emery. Is it beeping at you at all, does it sound like the motors are trying?

Also needs the gear lever in P position and, preferably, engine running.

I had a search after I posted. Probably hand brake as it's not doing any thing, no beeps motor noise. zilch
We saw it open when we bought it, and it's unlikley that anyone opened it since, But saying that the centre consol has been out.
I will check the switch in the hand break tonight.

Excellent - sounds like you are getting up and running

They are a nice drive aren't they (Bongos that is) esp. on the open road
