Hornet 742T car alarm fitted for £183

Post by BongoJon » Tue May 05, 2009 11:00 am

Hello All,

I am looking at getting a car alarm for my bongo and have been quoted £183 for a Hornet 742T alarm which seems to be a very good system. They are also fitting a door motor for me as its only central locking via drivers door key.

Hornet 742t Security System specs
4-channel security/keyless entry system Clone-Safe® Code-Hopping® On-board Door Lock Relays Parking Light Flash Failsafe® Starter Kill - On-board Relay On-board Stinger® Ultrasonic Sensor Protection DoubleGuard® Shock Sensor Revenger® Six-Tone Siren Super Bright LED System Status Indicator Dome Light Supervision - On-board Relay Comfort Closure Auxiliary Outputs Horn Honk Includes Two 4-button Transmitters

Although it is not thatcham approved it does not really matter as lifesure could not offer me a further discount anyway for alarm, thatcham or otherwise.

Does this sound like a good deal to people or does anyone know of any better in the Warrington area?

Cheers,
Jon

If they got a reasonable rep, the quote fitted plus the remote actuator sounds like a good deal to me... Save a lot of head scratching on your part if you ain't used to alarm systems!

I learned the hard way & fitted my own all singing total closure system, good fun!
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

just bear one thing in mind if the alarm is not Thatcham approved normally it has no backup battery, so if you cut the battery then no alarm, no sound.
I've opted for a cat 1 alarm by Clifford its costing just under £500 it will lock the doors and shut the electric windows it has dual zone microwave sensors battery backup two point immobilizer it also has the options for additional mods later like I'll be able to open and close the electric blinds from the remote, it may even be able to add the aft opening to it with a little tweaking
Bongo now work later !!! :) :)

Hi Chris,
yes that is fitted. Think I will go ahead and get it booked, they did my tints last week for £180 and I was happy with that. Totally different I know but they do look like a decent professional outfit. They do top of the range audio stuff and alarms as well as window tinting. I went for the limo tint, four sides and back.

Cheers,
John

i had one of these baby"s fitted......"nails"...i would make sure it is set up as you want it before the fitter goes because its a bit of a fiddle to alter settings yourself and when fitted it has all functions enabled (beeping,anti-hijack,etc...) and some of these will drive you insane, apart from this it aint going nowhere unless you say so...good luck neil...

Got it booked in for Tuesday. Will let you know how it is when done. On their website it is £199 so not a bad deal I guess.

I am not sure if I am allowed to put up the website on here. Maybe someone can advise. Dont want people thinking I am advertising for them, as I am not.

Cheers,
John

Alarm fitted and I am very happy with it. All doors work off the central locking feature now too. Would recommend them for window tinting or alarms.

Cheers,
John
