Hi
We have a 99 new shape Bongo and have had a play round with the seats on the runners and they don't go as far back as we think they should.
The runners go almost to the very back of the vehicle and there is a black bit of metal which looks like a 'stop' making sure they don't go back any futher than this.
However, our seats stop about a foot short of this and we can't make them go back any further.
We know about the lever on the bottom right hand of the seat to make them go further forward but can't find anything to make them go back any further.
Is there a magical lever we haven't found or is the last foot of the runners redundant?

Piece of "black metal that looks like a stop" remove you must, then the seats to the end will roll!!
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

Hi, thanks for the reply. Just to clarify, the seats currently stop about 1ft short of this piece of black metal so I didn't think it was this that was stopping them.
Do you still think it is this I need to remove?

hi the mechanisms for the seat are fitted central to the underside of both ends of the seat, so if you measure and put a mark on the carpet the center and push your seat forward untill you can see the mark. then you will be able to spread the rubbers apart on the rails and see if there is anything that is preventing your seat from travelling further back.newbie niloc

The said black stopper at the rear is only a part of it - you can't see the rest as it's a bar that sits in the track. Put a screwdriver under the round black screw looking thing (it's not a screw - should just pop out), and then lift the bar up. It may still be held on by string from the black screw thingy - cut if off or just leave the bar out of the track. Seats should now go all the way to the back.mrs_muffinhead wrote:Hi, thanks for the reply. One thing to remember if you do this - If the seat is all the way to the back of the runners and isn't folded over (i.e. is the back of the seat folded down on the base of the seat) then be careful - if you leave the back of the seat up in the sitting position and bring the tailgate down you could potentially hurt the tailgate glass.

Play around and you should see what I mean!
