Engine "whirring "
Hi my Bongo has started "whirring" loudly while driving, seems OK when ticking over, just when moving any ideas please ??
Re: Engine "whirring "
You could try to rule out some simple common things first -- perhaps it's a belt (spray just a little WD40 on it and see if it stops for a while). Or an exhaust manifold stud broken (try doing a search on this forum to find more info on this and how to check for a sheared stud).

Whirring or whining could well be transmission trouble too. Does the pitch change according to revs or road speed?

The noise seems louder than the engine, it started yesterday after i drove a few miles without noticing the "Hold" function on, ( sure it was RED when I turned engine off) could this be a cause ?

If its more of an amplified budgie making a very loud "chirping" noise, its a sheared manifold stud.
Not the hardest job to fix but can be fiddly if you're not spanner friendly.
