Can anyone help? I press the AC button (blower fan is on); button lights up but nothing happens. Turns out that pressing the button does not trigger the clutch that is supposed to get the compressor working. AC belt is present and turning. Problem seems to be that the wire going to the compressor is not carrying any juice at all. Running 12v straight to compressor clutch DOES click in the AC. So question is: why might pressing the AC button not send the necessary volts to the compressor clutch? Any ideas?
Thanks.

Re: Air conditioning - solenoid not working
there could be a few thing's that could cause it ,the a/c system could be low in gas and that will stop the system from kicking in ,there is pressure sensors on a/c system if the system pressure is too low ie low in gas the it wont start the compressor, has ure a/c ever been serviced if not i would consider it ,my work charges aboot £90 for a system service ie regas and oil rechare,it will also identify any leaks if present. good luck.

You can test it by..... removing the dryer bottle terminal (it's on top) and link it across...... run the engine and switch on the A/C and bingo it should click in and run.....if it does.... regas is the most probable solution.....Air Con specialist or you could try an EZ-Cool aerosol to up jobby...(they do work)......should work on a Bongo too..
