Be careful using them as they cause the spring to distort and can lead to breakages.

If the caravan is affecting the Bongo that much, have you checked the nose weight is correct?

Hi,

I looked at the Greystone ones from Halfords. However when I looked at the rear springs to measure the gap I realised they are probably not a good idea, reason being the springs kind of go round a corner a bit and are not straight. Firstly I don't think the assistors would fit well due to that, and also, as Scanner says, it will lead to distortion and that isn't really a good idea.

The best option is to look at the inflatable bags from firestone that fit inside the springs:

If you go this route be sure to fit them properly, namely the right way up and ensure the springs are clean and no sharp edges to damage the bags.

Check the obvious too such as noseweight, however on mine 99 facelift 2WD the rear suspension is pretty soft, I think the later models maybe fitted with a softer suspension.
