there's loads of stuff on here so have a search. Try putting in 'RX8' and see what you get. Also there is adivce on the hole centre diameter spacing thingie (PCD is it called - try putting 'diameter' and 'wheel' into Search and see what comes up). Otherwise no doubt the experts will be along shortly.

Congrats on bagging a Bongo by the way. =D> Piccies please, we love piccies 8)

You need wheels with a PCD of 5 x 114.3mm and a centre bore of 67.1mm. See here for wheels that can fit, especially Mazda, Hyundai, Kia and Mitsubishi http://www.alloywheelsinternational.com ... UIDE1.html
Ford Probe wheels also fit.
You can have a larger centre bore than 67.1mm, but will need spigot rings to reduce the size of the hole.

Mitsubishi Pinins fit straight on, they're 16", so will affect the gearing.

Right, so RX 8 will go straight on then?? What are the imlpications of fitting either 16/17//18 inch wheels then(as you may have guessed my mechanical expertise you can fit on the back of a match box)

You would need lower profile tyres, giving you the same rolling circumference, oh make sure they and ones at the right load rating!!!!

This link lets you calculate the size of tyre needed, depending on what size wheels you fit http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Funny enough...! A Mazda 5 was parked up behind behind me earlier..
I was checking out the alloys & thinking would they go straight on my wagon..? :-k
Nice wheels in my opinion!!
Cheaper by comparison to a race horse...

I know I'll incur the wrath of some but its really important to get the offset right too - otherwise you're going to end up with safety problems in the event of a puncture or brake failure.

The offset governs a steering geometry term called scrub radius/offset
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scrub_radius

If the offset is wrong then the vehicle will pull violently to the side in the event of brake failure (non ABS cars) or a puncture AND COULD INVALIDATE YOUR INSURANCE

irrc the Bongo offset is 40mm

RX8s with a 52mm offset are a potential risk then?

You'd need to make an accurate measurement from the centre of the top strut bearing down through the centre of the bottom ball joint til it intersects with the ground. The centreline of the wheel/tyre MUST be INSIDE that intersection - this is called NEGATIVE scrub radius. This pic shows POSITIVE scrub radius - not what you want. You would need to find out if the wheel has negative or positive offset and measure it up..
Pic2 shows how offset is measured. A 52 POSITIVE offset would push the centerline in the right direction - so it should be okay.
