front heater fan power
hi,guys my front heater fan packed up, resistor ok,the fan is ok, all fuses checked ok,i ran a wire direct from battery+ to live wire going to fan..bingo it powered up !so i figure there must be a dodgy relay somewhere coz theres no power coming of the loom pozitive to the fan,does anyone know where the relay switch or hidden fuse for this is?manythanx.
Re: front heater fan power
OK well most of the models (but not all - you don't say which model you are) have the following (As Ian is making the circuits available for free, I don't think anybody will object ?);

G3-05 is arrowed here in GEEEN

I don't have a picture of G3-07 which is the ON/OFF control, but is on the O/S wing somewhere behind the battery (G3-02 is in one of the 2 rows of relays below the battery and controls the heating I believe).

Re: front heater fan power
hi,mucho thanx 4 info will investigate!yep fogot model its a 96 tintop auto 4wd diesel 2.5
Re: front heater fan power
In that case forget above because you must have a Manual A/C rather than electronic version in which case;

And the relay is on the O/S again, so no picture.

Re: front heater fan power
great info geoff many thanx. so g1-03 is the heater fan blower relay , had a look at location..looks like you have to take battery out to easily get to it..no prob..i will get to it .as soon as i reach happy conlusion will post back!
i guess a temporary fix for this prob could be as i already found is to run a wire from live battery + to live wire that goes to blower fan, i know this works, but for a chippy i make a lousy electrician.

Re: front heater fan power
Ah yes but please make sure you put a fuse in it, don't please take it directly from the battery terminal! You should be able to reach the proper fuse as its under the bonnet in the larger of the two fuse boxes number 11, 30 amp;

Re: front heater fan power
heater fan now working perfectomundo! didnt replace relay,bypassed it, took wire from fuse 11(box in middle under bonnet)taking care to make sure wire is connected to the smaller spade so that 30amp fuse is inline to fan power
thanx for help peeps

Re: front heater fan power
Excellent stuff. Actually as you have a OFF position on the control its not that bad provided you do remember to turn it OFF when you leave the vehicle otherwise you will have a flat battery!
