Door speaker wiring colours

Post by dom_e » Sun Mar 29, 2009 3:11 pm

Can anybody tell me which colours are positive and which negative in the left and right door speakers?

I'm having a bit of a nightmare fitting some new speakers #-o

Thank in advance.

Try this, it seems to be the same for most models - click the image for full-scale image;

details from the Club CD and the associated colour documents - which I think Ian is in the process of making available for free now ?

:oops: Sadly, I can't seem to figure that diagram out! #-o

The right door has a green/ yellow wire and a green/red wire.

It could be I guess. That would make DR2 the left door speaker. If that's the case, what colour is L ?

I thought the Jap symbols on the R side correlated to the colours mapped out - I was struggling to find any of those symbols on the diagram!

L is anybodies guess :lol: It works out correct for the other three speakers, so when you open up the nearside door, it will come in a flash of coloured light what the L stands for probably a "Light" color maybe even Light Orange :?: I can't look at mine as the Wife is driving it back from Blackburn today, and she won't take kindly to being asked to strip the nearside door down halfway down the M6 :lol: :lol:

Yes some of the diagrams have the colours in symbol form some in letters it was only after I had added the colour code that I realised that this was a diagram without Japanese symbols :roll:

Many thanks.

I'll take some pics and hopefully submit a fact sheet on my findings.

I'm currently CADing up some custom speaker holders that should allow 17cm speakers to fit in the door. That should sound nice if it works!

I've just finished plumbing in the nice 17cm speakers in the front.

In the left door, the positive is Violet

In the right door, the positivie is green with a red stripe.

Good man, I wonder how they get L/O to mean Green+Red strip any way I've noted it on my diagrams for the future :!:
