Leaky scratch on rear wheel arch

Post by ramblinman » Sun Mar 15, 2009 5:09 pm

I have managed to aquire 2 very small but fairly deep scratches by my rear wheel arch. I first noticed them when two rust coloured patches appeared. These were easily removed with a bit of soap and hot water and I thought all was well. However within a week the scratches started leaking this rust like fluid which comes off easily if removed straight away but is a bit stubbern if left. Every time I use the bongo I think to myself I must do something about that. Any ideas out there?

Thanks

James

sounds like your arches are rotting away under the paintwork to me...........not a vehicle body expert.....

Yep - rusty wheel arches - a common problem :(

maybe we should now have a "parts club" to get some real fit ones made rather than modified "universal" wheel arches?

Willing to start a "spares club " for the hard to find/ remanufactured parts..........
