central locking part

i am trying to locate a spare part for my central locking, its the solenoid / servo inside the door which is located under the catch its a black unit with a lead and a plug. anybody have any ideas where i can get one?

i have a year 2000 2.5td

is it not part of the door latch?

i dont think so i unscrewed it and took it out !
the black unit has a motor and a nylon spindle with a cog in which is broken.

We tried to get one of these before and could only get it with a lock, which isn't cheap! But you can get a universal solenoid, which bolts to the door and the bar bolts to the bit that goes up and down. An auto electrician should be able to sell one to you - some of the universal ones have a couple of wires on, some have more so they will have to match one up with yours.

Maplins sell universal central locking solenoids :wink:

If you could post a pic I will have a look at other mazda cars in my mates scrap yard to see if there are any the same, have just found out that the interior door pull pockets on a 95 323 are the same as a bongo so now have a spare black pair.

'Bainy' got an actuator from Maplins. This is the link to how they fitted it, with the help of the advice on members factsheet.
