Just had word back from my local installer and not good news, he says that the data that he can get on the Bongo is not good enough to install the Alarm,

Does anyone know who fits Alarms in Bongos and what type/make they are. I am sure it was a Sigma Cat 1 that he was looking to fit. He can though do my dvd/satnav though so there is 1 good point.
HELP.......

Youve Been Bongoed where did you get it done? looks like I'm gonna need to either travel a good bit further away or see if I can find a mobile alarm fitter,
Peanut, Portsmouth is a bit far though in saying that, I bought it from Poole when I was down in Portsmouth visiting my son, so that aint completly out of the running

When I had my bongo converted to a full camper at Elite in Workshop in January 2007 they got someone to fit a Thatcham Cat 1 alarm and immobiliser for me. It is an Autowatch 160 RLi/t and it cost me £295.00.

Thatcham recommends Vehicle Systems Installation Board (VSIB) approved installers. The VSIB website address is
www.vsib.co.uk Tel: 01708 340911.
You can get also find a full listing of Thatcham approved security devices from
www.thatcham.org/security The listings are in .pdf format and you'll need to skip passed the OE manufacturer approved systems to get to the aftermarket ones but all the infos there.

I fit hands free car kits for a living and am involved on a couple of forums for auto electrical installers.
If anyone needs a local mobile installer I can usually recommend one so feel free to pm me and I will see what I can do.
I do know a good installer in Edinburgh if this is helpful.
By the way, Bongos are pretty easy to work on if you know what you are doing so I would run a mile from an installer who says otherwise!
