Reversing Audible Bleeper

Post by windywatson » Sun Mar 08, 2009 2:36 pm

Just installed rear reversing sensors to the bongo. Now have an audible & visual display to warn me of obstacles. Only problem is I now have competing warnings when in reverse. The audible bleeper fitted by the manufacturer that operates when in reverse is the louder of the two. Anyone out there ever had need to disconnect their reverse audible? If so how's it done please?
By way the reversing sensors fitted where from "Parking Sensors UK" 4 sensor kit £25. very good & the install was easy, followed info sheet for installing Tow Bar to find out how to get bumper off. Also installed flush fitting fog light whilst at it. This is fourth one of these kits I've installed on various vehicles and very impressed with how good they are for the relatively low price, and there is good range of colours for sensors. So can recommend them if your considering fitting a set.

Cheers

=D> I bought and fit the same system 2 weeks ago really chuffed with it,
I was just wondering why you went to the bother of removing the bumper ?
I did the complete fit on mine in about 40 minutes in situ :? Have I missed something ?
cheers! party on dudes.

I cannot understand why the reversing beeper can only be heard internally - I hope I'm in control enough to know whether I'm coming or going - and not externally to anyone behind. Bizarre.

I nearly did that once when I drove my brother's 3-gearr Ford unPopular, which had reverse where 1st usually is.

But I soon learnt, and didn't need a silly beeper!

Yep, could have had a go at doing job without removing bumper. However as the bus has a tow bar fitted and it had large cross member tight up against the bumber. Didnt fancy a knuckle scraper of a job whilst threading cables around. And as had the fog light to do thought I'd have the bumber up on the bench and work at a nice comfortable height. "Us olden's have got to look after our backs you know". Any way who wants to rush a job when you can take your time and enjoy it :D .

cheers
