FRONT FOGLAMPS

Post by brian-willoughby » Thu Mar 05, 2009 7:58 pm

I have just acquired a very nice Bongo.
It was imported with Front Fog lamps fitted, but no switch fitted on the dashboard.
Can any fellow owner tell me how to get them working?
Also what does the T.V Screen fitted above the radio do?

hi Brian, welcome to the forum mate, is the screen fitted in Japan or here on arrival?, if its one from Japan which is probably the case, its no good, the tvs in Japan are different to ours so they are worthless. as for the front fog light switch?.........is there a hole in the dash where a switch was?

Ditto above with regard to the screen but the fog/driving lights is a nother matter try and follow the wireing to trace where it is going and you might find it behind the dash and just needs a switch - mine is fitted with "set in the bumper" lights but I cannot trace the wire so if you have success let me know and good luck.
Be nice to everyone they might be nice back.

Have you tried to see if they come on with the high beam?, i have heard of a couple that have had them wired up to the main beam :| , a bit pointless imo but hey each to their own

In this link, they discuss the option of wiring in a switch for the front fogs. There's a lot of additional info, so it should help.

Thanks max - and where does the standard front foglamp warning light live?

I picked up a 2 bulb Mazda switch which I thought would be easy peasy fit but its got a weird circuitry involving a diode and seems to earth the warning light (in the switch) via the relay coil and earth :? #-o

I too have a similar switch and have never managed to get it to work. Can't help with the wire at the moment but if I find out I will post. :D
