Plastic Moulding for Mirror

I managed to prang my bongo and broke the glass in the passenger side mirror. I ordered the new glass and tried to click it in. It appears that there is some sort of plastic moulding missing.

I have attached photos of the glass and the mirror. Is there a part missing? Any idea where I can get hold of one?

That looks fine as it is apapa - the 4 clips in the corners around the holes in the mirror backplate should snap into place when mated up with their respective lugs/recesses. I firm press and they should all snap together rather loudly. removing the mirror glass always made me nervous as I felt if I levered fro mthe edge, I could break the glass. I sorted it as I had a v large sucker bought from a camping shop and intended as a socket for an awning storm pole. By slapping this on the mirror I was able to pull and pluck it away from its 4 snap connections.

I agree with Mike..!
It should just snap into place.
I think you just need to be bold with the snapping!

Maybe try adjusting the angle of the mirror servo thing away from the door slightly, the protrusion of the folding motor casing could be giving the wrong impression that the mirror don't fit..?

I have done it. As suggested some firm pushing resulted in a couple of clicks. I will be more careful next time. I have discovered there are some pitfalls upgrading from a polo to a bongo in inner London.

Goodo. Make sure all 4 have clicked home and yes - keep an eye on those mirrors. These days I fold mine every night when I come home and park outside the house. The folding mechanism doesn't take well to being bashed about - my first set both gave up after bashing episodes but luckily Waycar8 let me have the ones of his old w/o Bongo, for which I shall always be grateful

I think in may ways that those who don't have electrically folding mirrors on their Bongos are the lucky ones!

I had a Vauxhall Combo van for 13 years & must have fitted at least ten mirrors to it!
I was in it crossing a bridge in Stratford on Avon once, a car came the other way & hit off the mirror so hard it jumped off the bracket through the open window & landed in my lap!!

If you need to fit a mirror glass in future, make sure it's nice and warm beforehand. This should make the plastic clips more pliable and hopefully easier to fit.
