Front diff repair

Post by gtmpaul » Tue Feb 10, 2009 11:10 pm

Hi, has anybody had a front diff repaired, I'm not sure if it's the diff or front prop thats making the noise, but the diff looks the most expensive so its bound to be that

Take the front prop off - only a few bolts - then drive it. If the noise is still there it's the diff.

Can you describe the noise, when it happens - speed etc?

Hi
Noise is coming from front nearside/tunnel footwell area, vibration and rumbling,
The noise is simmilar to a wheel bearing rumble but worse, cornering has no effect on the noise.
