Buzzing Noise ??

Post by pilajake » Tue Feb 10, 2009 6:42 pm

Bongo has now become a total leisure vehicle for me since the arrival of my works lease car. :D :D

Been away for a week and Bongo hasn't been started.I noticed today a Buzzing noise when the ignition is turned on :?: and the door is open.
It goes when the glow light indicator light has gone off the dash :!: :!:
I only heared this when the door was open :?:
I have never noticed this before :!: , is this normal or is something sinister lurking :?:

Bongo starts without any problems , any ideas :?: :?:

Mine does exactly the same if the bongo has been left for a while... Noise disappears when the glowplug relay clicks.

Thanks BDC,
Mine also dissapears when the relay clicks.
For a moment I thought it was something serious.

So - you've both got wiring issues - methinks it shouldn't do that

:-k Mine only buzzes if left untouched for a week or more, and not at all during the summer... I wonder if the buzzing is a "grumble" from the gizmo's due to a less than 100% starter battery? I had run that battery completely flat and left it uncharged for quite a while, but that was maybe three years ago, maybe longer.

I think i'll renew the battery as a precaution, it's gotta be on borrowed time now anyway.

mine has always given off a faint buzz until the glowplug relay clicks off, still going after 3 years so it cant be that serious.

I had my plugs replaced a year or so ago, and i kind of expected the buzz to dissapear, but when left for long enough, and when cold enough, it did indeed return... It has never unduly concerned me, i have heard other bongo's make the same noise, so i assumed they all did it. :?

Our Bongo does that all the time, but I thought it was a warning. Or is this a different buzzing to the door open alarm, one? :?
