I don't have the mazda kitchen, but my side door activates the door warning light & I suspect the rear door should but the door switch isn't working & haven't got around to investigating it yet.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

the warning light on the dash comes on, on mine with the front doors open and the side door, but not the rear door.
Lost without my Bongo.

Does opening your rear door turn on any lights?

Ditto here... I think that's the standard set-up.

If the switch is in the correct position, its a 3 stage switch, light on,light off, light on with door open.

Right chappy has just fitted a Cat 1 alarm/immob and had a look while he was at it. Yes someone has done some tinkering with the wiring under the headlining trim by the rear door.

Now the side door and tailgate activate the rear corner light. Mid interior light is still on with front doors but it won't be a big job to swap it over to the side door.

All good, thanks for your help.
