Heated rear window not working

Post by Seamus » Sun Feb 08, 2009 1:25 pm

In the recent snow I reluctantly let the missus use the Bongo (the 4WD has been great) to get to a hospital appointment, when she returned the heated rear window had stopped working. The symptoms are that the h/r/w lights on both the climate control and dashboard aren't illuminated so my first port of call is the fuse but which one, does anybody out there know?

All is revealed in the factsheet in the member's area http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/member ... usebox.pdf

Thanks for that, I had wondered if it may have been a 30amp so I had already swapped the 2 big pink fuses about but it didn't cure the fault, how do you know if one those has blown and are they readily available?

Any other ideas would be gratefully received.

You can test them with a multimeter, or just a bit of wire and a bulb across the battery terminals.
I'm afraid I've no idea if they're easily available. I certainly don't remember seeing them in my local accessory shop, but I would think other Mazda models use them so a dealer may be able to help.

there is another possible,

if you have the digital aircon on your bongo, the switch gets gummed up and doesn't make contact... you need to strip the unit into bits and wipe the black residue off of the switch pad and circuit board......

or just leave it and not use the heated rear window... like me.... for over a year
