thermostat problems

Post by londonron » Sun Feb 08, 2009 4:05 pm

van gets really hot and then needle goes down to halfway as thermostat opens. however it is happening later and later so i think it is about to break. last night the needle touched the h symbol so was fully over before a loud gurgle and drop of the needle.
any ideas on anything i need to check and what to replace.

If you are sure it is the Stat...don't drive it again till you get a new one in there....If your temp gauge has hit the High mark you are in danger of blowing the head gasket or worse.
Then make sure it is bled correctly .....Loads of garages don't know how to do this.....download the factsheet

Bongoshop top right of the screen.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.
