Hi Shane,
I would check the bulbs if i was you.It is unlikely to be the fuse.
I don,t think that there are 2 fuses, one for main beam and one for dipped.
If i am wrong no doubt someone will correct it

Could be both bulbs blown, worth getting a tester, or spare bulb on a bit of wire, and work back from headlamps, checking for power.
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.

I can only find one headlamp fuse, so agree with Dolly1 that a fuse is unlikely. Are there separate relays for main and dip?

Thanks for the replies.

The local mechanic is calling at the house on Saturday to sort the
problem out. I'll let you know what the cause was.

Hi Shane, i think the fuse is in the interior fuse box near your right hand knee, (when sat in the bongo obviously!) :P

Have you got sidelights and main beam? (main beam when "flasher" is actuated) Yet no main beams when dips are switched?

If so, chances are it's the relay on the nearside inner wing under the bonnet... I think it's the "h270" relay.

Hi Shane, you may not need to... Often the relay has a twin relay next to it, (usually for the sidelights) simply swap them round (careful to read that the relays are identical) If after swapping them you now have no sidelights, yet headlights, then you have nailed it.

Replacement relay will be £5-£10.

It turned out to be very, very technical.
Both bulbs had gone.

Thanks for the replies.
