replacement coolant hoses- not silicone

I am thinking of replacing all my hoses with some similar to these http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/straight-hos ... -578-p.asp , can anyone provide me with what sizes and lengths I need, I coundt find it anywhere on the forum

Far too many bends etc, you'd be better off buying a set of originals I reckon if you don't want the silicon.

yeah, the silicon ones are a bit out of my price range, I reckon that a set of rubber ones will be good for at least another 6-10 years. where can i get the replacement ones you speak of miss fixit as I cant see any on here.

Any mazda dealer, you may need to get the part numbers from lushprojects, JAS, BongoBits, AVA, or Google "Bongo hoses" they aren't cheap, but I think you'll have problems trying to make your own.

Sorry - missed the 'not silicone' bit in the title They are available from places like BongoBits, but not sure if they do a special deal on a complete set of 12 or so required.

I'm sure Flippa will do a good price if you ordered a 'set'. Don't forget to factor in cost of replacement jubilee clips - its not worth re-using the old ones.

Yes cheaper, I priced both and Flippa was cheaper hose for hose than Bongo bits - for the ones they listed anyway.

I think Parawaiting was maybe comparing silicone hoses to buying rubber hose & making his own? As he didn't know where to buy the standard rubber replacements, I'd assume he hadn't been able to compare prices like for like.

I havent finished researching it fullly, i was just looking at ways to get a set as cheap as possible even if it meant buying and cutting to size from the site I mentioned.I think a set of Flippas hoses were around £240 AFAIK I was hoping I could do for much less than that

If just one of those hoses fails to do what it's meant to, the bill for a set of Flippa's hoses could look cheap at twice the price.

Hi Para, i was just curious... How would you create the bends in the rubber hose without compromising the inner dimensions?

I replaced mine with the flippa hoses, i thought it a prudent piece of preventative maintenence. My hoses had behaved themselves, but how long would that stroke of luck last?

But Bongobits ARE expensive. Mazda dealer prices are much cheaper (well, they are at Warrington Mazda, and I assume there's a standard price), and are lower than the silicone ones.

is it such a bad idea to cut them myself?? I seem to be getting far more discouragement than I expected, if you look at the site http://www.cbsonline.co.uk/rubber-coola ... -164-c.asp you will see that they doquite a selection of bent as well as straight hoses , it doesnt sound like anyone has looked at alternatives then
