Hi guys,
Thanks for the previous posts on the start-inhibit problem. Got that sorted.
Finally got the beast fired up this evening and was feeling pretty pleased with myself (full engine rebuild with new pistons and cylinder head). BUT there is nice clean oil welling up from one of the head-bolts (3rd from the front on the n/s of the engine. I have concluded that this is the bolt next to the spigot that feeds oil from the block, and the O-ring must have been damaged when I put the head on. I know that this seal was new (my engine machinist helpfully left a label on it to remind me to replace it). Obviously, I need to take the head off and replace the o-ring, but is this common or have I just been a bit unlucky? Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks & regards,
Duncan

Dandy, will he need new head bolts if he takes the head off?

Hmmmm - technically yes...................and knowing Bongos appetite for gaskets if things are less than perfect, I guess I'd fit news ones.
