It was disconnected both sides and still held in place by a clip I think.

Re: Radiator overheating
When you say the bleed hose had long since been disconnected... Do you mean it was only attached at one end, and the other end was folded double with a bung at the end?

Re: Radiator overheating
You can't disconnect it from the engine end without losing all the coolant
Sounds like you have a non-standard engine, possibly from a Ford Ranger, as they don't have a bleed pipe.

Re: Radiator overheating
Sorry, i missed this post... The metre and a half long hose wasn't connected at either end? That means it must have been bunged engine side? Seems a strange practice...stefanovic wrote:It was disconnected both sides and still held in place by a clip I think.

Re: Radiator overheating
I just went outside and checked the hose. It's black, about 1/2" to 3/4" thick and 1 metre long. The side closest to the oil tank cap has an open hole which must have been attached to something, though I couldn't see what. It is fixed to the chassis by clips and runs toward the door and then towards the back of the seat. The other end has been closed with a bung. I think it must have come this way when I bought it 3 years back.I just didn't notice it.

Re: Radiator overheating
Here's how the bleed hose should look stevanjovic, except probably black in your case... (near bottom of pic).

Have a look at this thread http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... to#p230696 - page 3 shows a picture of the bleed hose, where it goes to the engine.

Re: Radiator overheating
See in the pic how my bleed hose is clipped this end to the chassis, and the other end goes to the cylinder head? What is in place there on your head? A bung?
