Mystery Warning Light

Post by danandsteph » Sun Jan 25, 2009 8:57 pm

Hi, #-o
We've got a warning light to the righthand side of the steering wheel. It has been flashing but now its on permanently, is our bongo going to explode?! The light is on a small panel, which has 2 switches, for the front and rear fog lights, there is a japanese symbol on it.

This sounds like an after market switch which has been fitted to operate the fog lights. Was it fitted in the UK or Japan? In the UK it should have a warning light to show that the rear foglights are on, but this shouldn't flash. Do you have a photo of it?

Welcome to the madhouse :D It would really help if you put your location in your profile - somebody local may be able to help you.
The switch/light you describe doesn't sound like a standard fitting, so will need more investigation.

My red 'roof not down' light (extreem right on instrument panel) has flashed the 2.5yrs I've had my Bongo. It is due to a duff microswitch o/s font position. Might this be the light you are referring to?

Oh and welcome danandsteph 8)
