In-car heater

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a 12V car heater?

whatever you buy ,you will flatten your battery very quickly.

No - Any 12v heater will flatten your battery very quickly, unless the engine is running (in which case you wouldn't need a heater

).

Thanks - but I've got a leisure battery. Any thoughts? Are there perhaps alternatives to a 12v heater that would be safe to use? Cheers.

I'm afraid a 12v heater will flatten that too.

If you use sites with electric hookup then a 240v electric heater would be the answer (its been discussed recently so have a search on here). Otherwise, solutions range from using propane / butane gas heaters (but you can't ever safely use those in the Bongo) to the likes of built-in Eberspacher / Webasto diesel heaters (or a propane gas equivalent) which blow hot air around the Bongo. These are great, but not cheap to buy and install (maybe £1k unless you buy one cheap off ebay and DIY it).

It will seem to flatten a leisure battery even quicker. Leisure batteries cannot supply a high rate of power for long - they are designed to release power slowly, over a long period.
