interior noise

Post by kloonsy » Tue Dec 30, 2008 6:33 pm

Our freda seems very noisy inside, like the is no sound deadening. Only driven one other and dont recall it being as bad. Cant really have a conversation with someone in the back. Is it normal and has anybody cured it?? Thought about dynamat the whole way through but will my new ply floor help[when i get round to it]

First thing I'd do is check the clips that hold the engine covers down. They stretch out a bit over time, bend them back in a bit & see if it makes any difference.
I used some adhesive flashing on the rear panels when I had it stripped out in the summer, seems to have made a difference.
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

have sat in the back of different bongo's and i must admit you cannot hear what the front passengers are saying when the vehicle is on the move.
Lost without my Bongo.

This thread may be of some interest to you Kloonsy... It wasn't the thread i was searching for, pay special attention to peterbee's post, he linked to a site that does a sound deadening kit

I have used it in the past on other vehicles i was fitting sound systems to, works just as well as dynamat, is probably a bit lighter, and certainly cheaper!
